Milwaukee Treasures

Tiffany Windows, Lunch Buffet at the Wisconsin Club and a visit to the Rare Books Room at the Milwaukee Public Library

Among the many churches in downtown Milwaukee are three, built in the late 1800’s that possess a magnificent collection of well renowned Tiffany Studio ecclesiastical stained-glass windows.  We will enjoy a guided tour of two of the churches and a “drive-by” of the third.  Our Deli Buffet lunch will be at the Wisconsin Club, also built in the 1800’s.  After lunch, we will walk  across the street to the Rare Books Room at the Milwaukee Public Library, where we will listen to a presentation and have an opportunity to explore its contents.   We welcome everyone to join us for this unique day of Milwaukee Treasures.

South Africa is a land of diverse beauty, offering stunning scenery and extra-ordinary sunsets along with wildlife and natural wonders. The guides know the best times and places to fine the Big Five - lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo - as well as a plethora of other species, from a great variety of birds and giraffes to zebras and hippos. The team is comprised of highly experienced hosts and guides who are not only passionate about showing you South Africa, but who are also deeply knowledgeable about the wildlife behaviors and habitats, culture, and ecosystems of South Africa. They are dedicated to providing each participant with a safe, informative, inspiring, and fun journey that you will remember for your lifetime, all while maintaining a respectful distance to ensure the animals' and participants' well-being.

The lodges and camps are carefully selected to offer the perfect blend of comfort and authenticity, with fully running water and electricity. Enjoy wonderful African cuisine, as well as absorbing their culture.

The participants safety is their top priority. The guides are trained in first aid and are equipped with the knowledge and tools to handle any situation that may arise. They adhere to strict safety protocols to ensure that the journey is both thrilling and secure.

The guides are also committed to sustainable tourism practices. By choosing this safari, the participant is supporting conservation efforts and local communities in South Africa. They work closely with wildlife reserves and conservation organizations to promote the protection of endangered species and their habitats.

So, whether the participant brings a camera or a pair of binoculars, this trip will show everyone Gods bounty in nature.

The trip dates are approximately August 8, 2025 through August

17, 2025. A special discounted price for our church group, OWLS. Anybody from OWLS is welcome to include their friends. The trip has a minimum of 9 participants.

Jeff Engel will be the co-host on this trip. Jeff was raised in Elm Grove and now resides in Delafield. You may remember Jeff and his parents, Herb and Grace Engel and his sister, Jill Kizivat and family, as former members of our church.

Jeff Engel is a seasoned African safari leader and offers a wealth of information about the animals, birds and culture of Africa. Additionally, Jeff is an award-winning nature and wildlife photographer, television personality, and an Amazon Bests Selling author. He wrote, produced, and recorded a song titled "God's Wink" which is a song about how when interesting things come to your attention, perhaps they are not coincidences, but God trying to get your attention.... thus a wink from God.... "God's Wink." You never know when an opportunity that presents itself to you is really a wink from God. If you have thought about going to South Africa this article may be a coincidence....or is it? Please feel free to go to YouTube: Jeff Engel "God's Wink."
