United Methodist Women

Membership in the United Methodist Women is open to all women interested in fellowship and Christ's call to mission. The local unit is comprised of four circles where guests are always welcome! Each circle plans its own programs, elects its own chairperson and supports fund-raisers for missions throughout the year. Announcements are made in The Welcome Word and the Sunday bulletin. The popular Reading Program books along with Response Magazine and New World Outlook are shelved in the church library and available to everyone, even if you do not participate in the formal Reading Program. UMW membership links you to the world's largest women's group organized specifically for helping women and children. The annual Pledge Drive is held in April, but donations can be sent to UMW until December 1st.

Mary Circle - This is our largest group, and most of its members are middle aged or recently retired, including many "snowbirds.". They meet on the fourth Thursday of each month. Some meetings include lunch at a member's home, while the others include dessert, coffee and tea at 1:00 followed by a program. Co-Chairs: Jan Isbister and Marilyn DeWees .

Naomi Circle - This circle is made up of some of our most "experienced" members. They meet on the fourth Thursday of each month at 11:30 for lunch and a program or activity. Chairperson: Charlotte Fabritz.

Addie Jonson Circle - named to honor one of our founding members, meets on the fourth Thursday of each month. Meetings are held at 7:00pm, since many of the members are not available during the day.

Isabella Thoburn Circle - named to honor the first teacher who was sent into the mission field in India. This circle meets at 1:00 on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Many of the members are somewhat "crafty," but that is NOT a requirement! Chairperson: Cynthea Rollo
