Graham West.

Meeting Opening/Video Greeting: The meeting opened with a video message from Bishop Jung at 7:04pm. Video message summarized what we are for as United Methodists, what we stand for and discussed how this is a crucial time for us as United Methodists to communicate what we are for. We are called to serve as one body and for unity in the church for the advancement of the mission of the United Methodist Church. Rev. Graham West then read the United Methodist Church's mission statement. “The Mission of the United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”

A Song of Calling: Those in attendance sang the song Here I Am, Lord with Pastor John leading with guitar.

A Time for Bible Study: The Bible passage Luke 10:25-37 was read (The Good Samaritan Story), and it was discussed by those in attendance. Who are our neighbors? What will we do to love our neighbor and connect outside our walls? We are told to build bridges. What if we do something fresh and wonderful to love our neighbors? Where can we join Christ who is already working outside of our walls? Kathy Hartke shared information about a mission called Wisdom, as well as another group that helps pregnant women who are incarcerated.

Reporting on Ministry/Team Reports:  Volunteer and Servant Ministry Team reports from various ministries were handed out as well as a flow chart with the various ministries in the church. What is being put into action now? Rev. Graham West asked if there was anything from the hand outs that anyone would like to highlight. Dean Johnson highlighted Pastor John's letter to the congregation, and opinions were shared with regards to the future of the church, and the Pastoral succession. Pastor John commented on some of the issues, as well as the talents that exist in the congregation.

Rev. Graham West explained the concept of a bicycle wheel and we as a congregation should be like the wheel. There is the center axle - Christ - we must have. The spokes, and the outer wheel. We can’t just be spokes we need community too. All three are crucial to the health of a church. We need to love each other and hold onto each other.

Pastor John discussed the flow chart hand out with regards to those that will serve and encouraged people to keep signing up. He talked about how it shows just how much we are doing as a congregation, but that there is always a need to take on specific tasks. Pastor John encouraged everyone to talk to friends who might be interested.

Financial items for Church Conference Approval: Acceptance of the Conference apportionment for 2018 and Pastoral support items. A motion to approve apportionments was made by Dean Johnson, seconded by Katy Wilson and approved by all. Dean Johnson moved to approve Pastors compensation and Dianna Haugh seconded the motion and the motion was approved by all. The Accountable Reimbursement and Housing Plan was also discussed. Dean Johnson commented on the salary and housing and encouraged people to think of it as total wage compensation. He also commented that this has stayed the same for the past 3 years, as well as the fact that we have no control over insurance and retirement benefit costs. Voted on and all were in favor.

Recertification of Lay Servants: Brian Chapman and Larry Holloway are being asked to be re-certified as lay servants. Motion was made by Dean Johnson and Christian Fuller seconded the motion. All were in favor.

Additional Discussion: A discussion with regards the church's safe sanctuary policy was had. Donovan Haidinger, Tracey Magyar and Pastor John commented that this is a document that is in process but is almost complete. It is a working document that each church adopts to fit their needs. Apportionments are paid up to date, property and liability insurance is up to date. Church Mutual covers our insurance policy.

Closing: Those in attendance closed with the song We Are One in The Spirit, lead by Pastor John, and closing prayer was lead by Pastor John. The meeting was closed with a prayer at 8:01pm.
